My name is Liam Foldi. I started Kenshi Candles when I was 14 to make it easier for any person, club, school or charity to raise money. As a social enterprise, we donate over half our profit to fund charities and worthy causes that make a real difference in the world.
As a young person growing up in a wealthy city like Melbourne I found that most people honestly want to help others, but the hectic demands of life can make it hard to give back regularly. Kenshi is all about enabling people to give back and help those who are struggling through the purchases we already make. As consumers we all spend money on gifts. By purchasing Kenshi Candles you are using the money you would have already spent on gifts to support a charity you feel passionate about.
Although a great story is important, nothing can replace a quality product. This means never sacrificing quality which is why our candles are individually hand-poured in Melbourne and contain the highest grade natural soy wax, essential oils and cotton wicks. And there’s more! After running out of room to make candles in the family garage, in early 2019 we began a partnership with the Chin refugee community in Melbourne. After fleeing from civil war in Myanmar, the Chin people now make the candles and earn a much needed income here in Melbourne.
